  1. Gulf of Mexico oil disasters pumped over 100 million gallons of crude oil into the ocean until it was capped after 2 months
  2. Attempts to plug the Mexico well head included heavy mud, rubber and golf balls
  3. Today, the Gulf of Mexico has recovered better than expected and the seafood is safe to eat
  4. The Gulf of Mexico has a natural population of oil degrading bacteria which helped with the recovery
